May 2017 - KS2 Playmakers by the Mouse Trap Theatre Group
The HIP children in KS2 have been taking part in Playmakers, an inclusive creative learning project which uses a theatre trip as a stimulus for in-school workshops. Over the course of this term, the children have worked collaboratively with specialist facilitators to create a piece of theatre, which is currently being adapted and will be performed by deaf and hearing professional actors in a central London theatre. www.mousetrap.org.uk
April 2017 - The Bexley Rotary Club develop our Sensory Garden
All hands on deck this Spring as members from the Bexley Rotary Club helped us to weed and spruce up our sensory garden. The Rotary Club kindly donated some money to the HIP so that we can buy some plants to bring it back to life. Watch this space as we get our gardening gloves at the ready!
March 2017 - Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
The SMSC team and School Council arranged for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People to visit us. We enjoyed learning about how dogs can help Deaf people become more independent. The School Council held a cake sale to raise money for this important charity. www.hearingdogs.org.uk
