Windmill Hill 2019

Windmill Hill 2019

Please find below a diary of our Year 6 Windmill Hill Trip 2019.

Arrived safe and sound at school, with a tired but excited group of children and adults - looking forward to a bath and our own beds.

More photographs have been uploaded as iPad's have been cleared.

Please keep checking the website for pictures.

Good morning everyone!

The children are just tucking in to their final meal at PGL. We have had an awesome week despite the wet and muddy conditions. The children have been amazing and have all faced fears and pushed themselves to do things they never thought they could. They have encouraged each other to go further and have really shown what amazing young people they are. We are returning with 28 tired children who are looking forward to seeing you all on our return.

I shall let you know when we depart on the coach and will update if we encounter any traffic.

Final group picture

The children have had a brilliant last day on site. They have danced their socks off this evening and our group lead, Tom,  even put in a special song request ‘Reach for the Stars’ which the children thoroughly enjoyed dancing and signing to.

All children are now tucked up in bed and looking forward to heading home tomorrow. We shall be returning them with a very muddy suitcase of clothes so parents be warned.

Watch this space tomorrow where we shall be regularly updating with our expected time of arrival.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Getting as much into our final day as possible

A morning of high ropes and rifle shooting

Everyone has slowly emerged from their rooms this morning. The children are definitely thankful for the nights rest and all slept soundly. After an amazing night running around the fields in the dark with torches, the children are looking forward to a day of rifle shooting, Jacobs ladder, high ropes and problem solving. Tonight they will be putting on their disco outfits and busting out the dance moves.

A night of Cluedo...which the teachers thoroughly enjoyed!

We have had a lovely day full of activities. It has been very wet and cold although the children have enjoyed themselves. We are enjoying 20 minutes of down time before heading down for dinner.

We present to you....the children of the swamp!

Good morning, we have all woken up to a very wet and windy morning. The children slept soundly and we had no issues throughout the night. The children have all got stuck in to the activities and conquered some fears already. They are behaving wonderfully and doing everyone we knew they would.

Today we have tunnel trails (prepare for the bags of muddy clothes parents), zip wire, giant swing, orienteering and climbing.

Photos to follow later on.

Mud and more mud followed by canoeing
